4th Class Illuminated Letters

We’ve been learning about the Book of Kells. The boys studied some illuminated letters from the book and used oil pastels to create their own first initial. They did such a fantastic job!

Lava Lamps in 4th Class

Green Schools Water Workshop

Halloween Spooktacular!

‍‎Our annual St. David’s Halloween Coffee Morning was a great success! The boys’ costumes were fantastic and the costume parades were enjoyed by all.

Thanks to all of the parents for the great efforts with costumes, for coming in to enjoy some cake and coffee, and to the Parents Association for all of the hard work!

Happy Halloween! 👻 🎃

Trump Vs Kim – Halloween Celebrations

Well done to everyone who dressed up for our Halloween Parade. It created a great atmosphere around the school.

We enjoyed, in particular, this offering from Mr Conaghan (Trump), Mr Tobin, Luke Thompson (Kim Jong Un), Luke Gorman and Ronan Hackett.

The Heroes Return

What a game! We could not be prouder of our senior football team who lost in a titanic battle in Croke Park against St Patrick’s NS, Drumcondra. The score was an agonising 4-7 to 4-6.

Perhaps nerves had their part to play in the first half and we trailed by 10 points. This was the point where everyone could give up and surrender the match, however, the David’s boys went out and showed unbelievable heart and brought the score level with 5 minutes to play.

With seconds remaining and a point down, a goal chance from David’s was cleared off the line. It was not meant to be but every player could hold their head up high for the courage and determination they showed, particularly in the second half.

*Pictured above is the guard of honour the parents and staff of St David’s held for every player on their return. In shot is Gavin Tiernan (our double goal-scoring supersub) carried by Finn O’Neill and Luke Thompson.

Visit from the Sam Maguire

We were delighted to welcome the Sam Maguire Cup into St. David’s today! Thanks to the boys in blue!
